GENERAL CAR RENTAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
- OBJECT OF THE CONTRACT. These general conditions regulate the rental of vehicles offered by the company (hereinafter “the company”) to customers (hereinafter “the customer”), establishing the rights and responsibilities of both parties.
- APPLICABLE LEGISLATION This contract is governed by the legal regulations in force in Spain, including any applicable regional regulations. The customer must comply with local traffic laws and related regulations in the places where the vehicle is used.
- VEHICLE MODELS. The vehicle models shown on the website are examples. The company reserves the right to assign a vehicle with similar characteristics, without guaranteeing make, model, color or fuel type.
- CUSTOMER REQUIREMENTS: Small and medium cars: Minimum age of 19 years old and at least 1 year of driving experience; SUV and family cars: Minimum age of 21 years old and at least 1 year of driving experience; 9-seater vans: Minimum age of 23 years old and at least 2 years of driving experience. Payment card: It is mandatory that the main driver has a debit or credit card in his name and a valid identification document (DNI, NIE or passport).
- The rental begins at the time of delivery of the vehicle and ends at the date and time specified in the contract. Extensions must be requested in advance and are subject to approval and availability by the company.
- USE AND PROHIBITIONS: The customer agrees not to: drive off public roads or in dangerous conditions, participate in competitions, speed or endurance tests, transport dangerous goods or prohibited substances, drive under the influence of alcohol, drugs, fatigue or illness, use the vehicle for illicit purposes or for transporting persons for consideration, transport the vehicle outside the island without express authorization from the company.
- MILEAGE AND FUEL. Mileage: The rental includes unlimited mileage unless a limit is specified in the particular conditions of the contract. Fuel: The vehicle must be returned with the same level of fuel as at the beginning of the rental. Otherwise, the amount corresponding to the missing fuel will be charged.
- COVERAGE AND DEPOSIT. Coverage and excess: The amounts of the excess and the deposit will be specified in the particular conditions of the contract. Comprehensive coverage: The client may contract coverage without excess for greater peace of mind. The all risk coverage will be mandatory if the reservation holder does not have a credit card in his name or the return takes place outside office hours (at the airport terminal). - INSPECTION OF THE VEHICLE AND LIABILITY FOR DAMAGE.Initial and final inspection Before starting the rental, the company’s team checks the vehicle and records the existing damages on the inspection sheet; It is the client’s responsibility to check the condition of the vehicle before using it and, if he/she detects additional damages not recorded, to take photographs and send them to the company; In case of not reporting additional damages, any damage detected when returning the vehicle will be the client’s responsibility. Liability for damage: Even if damage occurs while the vehicle is parked, it is still the customer’s responsibility, unless he/she can prove that he/she was not the cause; Completing a friendly report in case of damage is mandatory, even if there is no third party involved.
- MODIFICATIONS AND CANCELLATIONS OF RESERVATIONS. Reservation modifications: Reservations may be modified free of charge provided that notice is given at least 24 hours prior to the time of delivery of the vehicle. All modifications are subject to availability. Reservation cancellations: Reservations can be cancelled at least 7 days in advance, with an administrative charge of 30 €. If the cancellation is made less than 7 days in advance, the amount paid will not be refunded, but may be saved as credit for future reservations.
- METHODS OF PAYMENT. Only credit or debit cards in the name of the principal driver will be accepted. Debit cards and cash will require the contracting of coverage without excess.
- ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE. All risk coverage includes roadside assistance. Without premium coverage, any necessary assistance (such as towing) will be paid for by the client, either for damages occurring during the rental or for mechanical failures.
- AFTER HOURS RETURNS: After hours returns are permitted with prior authorization from the company. The customer will be responsible for the vehicle until it is inspected by company personnel.
- APPLICABLE LAW AND JURISDICTION. This contract is governed by the laws of Spain. The parties agree to submit to the courts and tribunals of the place where the rental office is located.
